I juli 2023 Saniona ing\u00e5r samarbetsavtal med AstronauTx. Saniona kommer att erh\u00e5lla milstolpsbetalningar om upp till 1,1 miljarder SEK (102 miljoner USD) i samband med att vissa milstolpar avseende forskning, utveckling och regulatorisk process uppn\u00e5s. Dessutom har Saniona r\u00e4tt till kommersiella milstolpsbetalningar om upp till 0,8 miljarder SEK (75 miljoner USD) och differentierad royalty p\u00e5 nettof\u00f6rs\u00e4ljningen av alla eventuella produkter som AstronauTx kommersialiserar som resultat av samarbetet. AstronauTx \u00e4r ett bioteknikf\u00f6retag med bas i Storbritannien som tar fram sm\u00e5molekyl\u00e4ra l\u00e4kemedel f\u00f6r behandling av Alzheimers sjukdom och andra neurodegenerativa tillst\u00e5nd. Fokuset ligger p\u00e5 att korrigera de st\u00f6rningar i hj\u00e4rnans fysiologi som f\u00f6religger vid neurodegeneration, framf\u00f6r allt genom att \u00e4ndra funktionen hos astrocyter, den mest f\u00f6rekommande celltypen i hj\u00e4rnan.
